In a marriage of business process management capabilities, managed file transfer specialist Trubiquity announced that it has acquired ECbridges, a provider of electronic data interchange (EDI), e-commerce, and business process management products to an array of manufacturers and industries.

Trubiquity did not reveal the terms of the deal, but said in a statement that it would welcome ECbridges’ employees and customers into the Trubiquity fold. ECbridges’ Website lists Xerox, Honeywell, International Steel Group, and Nestlé among its customers. Trubiquity’s customers include BAE Systems, Behr, Chrysler, and Hologic. Both companies are privately held.

The focus of the business process management capabilities of both Trubiquity and ECbridges is the automated exchange of data and files in a partner trading network, a challenge familiar to manufacturers who seek efficiency as they conduct business across company borders.

Trubiquity’s slate of business process management products includes, in part, outsourced EDI, data exchange for product development teams, automation and management of RFx processes for procurement departments, and managed file transfer via ERP integration.
