Amid a cavalcade of announcements from its annual OpenWorld convention this week, technology behemoth Oracle revealed a series of Process Accelerators for Oracle Business Process Management Suite 11g, all aimed at quickening the pace of usability for its BPM software.
The idea behind the BPM accelerators is to deliver pre-packaged process flows to customers of the business process management software. By furnishing prefab accelerators for certain common processes, Oracle aims to relieve IT staff of the task of designing those workflows into the software.
The BPM accelerators Oracle announced this week include workflows common across industries and others that are industry-specific. In the former category are the Travel Request Management and the Document Approval accelerators. The travel-related bundle is intended for “automation and multi-level rule based workflow,” Oracle said in a statement, while the Document Approval offering aims to help customers manage “standard or one-of-a-kind documents.”
