PLM market leaders Dassault Systèmes and PTC this week reported strong results for the three-month period leading up to the mid-point of the year, results that suggest that manufacturers are once again beginning to spend on product lifecycle management software.
Dassault reported a 90% jump in net income for its second fiscal quarter, with earnings rising to €48.6 million from €25.6 million reported in the second quarter of last year.
The company’s total revenue for the quarter was €385.6 million, an 18% year-over-year rise. Dassault’s new license revenue for the quarter increased 23% to €85.4 million.
“Dassault Systèmes had a very solid second quarter, with sales above the high end of our revenue target, excluding any currency benefits, and earnings and operating margin results significantly above our objectives, thanks in large measure to execution at both the sales and operational levels,” said Dassault President and CEO Bernard Charlès in a prepared statement.
